Member representing Dekina Bassa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Hassan Abdullahi Baiwa has lamented the spate of killings in his constituency, saying that the development is unacceptable.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, which was made available to CAPITAL POST, condemning politically motivated killings lately, the lawmaker wondered what would have warranted the snuffing of life out of humans for any reason.

He recalled that Anyigba in Dekina Local Government was once a peaceful town, but has become one of the most endangered place to live due to endless thuggery activities that has claimed several lives.

The lawmaker commiserated with the families of those who have been assassinated, while calling on murderers to stop.

He wrote: “First and foremost, my heart goes out to the families of those who have lost their lives due to the spate of killings that have almost become a daily occurrence in Anyigba. This is a very sad and painful development and I condemn this wicked act in its entirety.

“No matter the level of provocation, there can never be any justification for taking another person’s life. No explanation would suffice either.

“Anyigba is traditionally and historically known for its peaceful and accommodating ambience and as such these acts are strange to our common interest.

“All hands must be on deck to stop such gruesome destruction of lives and I commit to any endeavor or initiative that will put an immediate stop to this unusual occurrences.

“Having said this, I am already liaising with some relevant authorities to unravel the immediate and remote causes of this worrisome and despicable acts with a view to forestalling future occurrences.

“Peace must return and prevail in Anyigba, and the entire Igala nation and our dear State by God’s Special Grace.”
