Abubakar Mallami ordered DSS to banish me to Loko, Nasarawa State – Sanusi
The dethroned Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has said that the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Mallami (SAN) and the Attorney-General of Kano State, Ibrahim Mukhtar instructed the Department of State Security Services and the Police to detain him in Loko, Nasarawa State.
He explained that when the security agents came to pick him, he hadn’t pick his belongings, a situation that made them to harass him out of the palace.
He revealed that immediately his dethronement was announced, a friend of his made available a helicopter to fly him to Lagos, but Kano State Commissioner of Police insisted on flying him to Abuja on another aircraft.
Sanusi believed that he was not given fair hearing before his dethronement as the 14th Emir of Kano, but said he won’t challenge his removal in court.
The former Central Bank of Nigeria governor has been having running battle with Kano State governor, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje since 2017.
He was dethroned on Monday by Kano State government which insisted that the former Emir had “total disrespect for lawful instructions from the office of the State government.”
Kano State government also cited insubordination as reasons, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was removed, saying that he wouldn’t attend meetings without serious reasons.
