BREAKING: NSA confirms Binance executive’s escape from custody, says collaborators arrested

The Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, has confirmed Binance’s Regional Manager for Africa, Nadeem Anjarwalla’s escape from lawful custody.

This was revealed in a statement by the Director of Strategic Communication at the ONSA, Zakari Mijinyawa, on Monday, noting that, “preliminary investigation shows that Mr Anjarwalla fled Nigeria using a smuggled passport.”

“The personnel responsible for the custody of the suspect have been arrested, and a thorough investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances that led to his escape from lawful detention,” the statement said.

CAPITAL POST earlier on Monday reported the escape of Binance Regional Manager which was also reported by another leading online newspaper.
Anjarwalla, 38, pretended to go for prayer in a mosque as a result of Ramadan fast which he was reportedly led by a guard at Abuja Guest House, on Friday, and from there, he eloped.

The fleeing suspect was detained alongside a colleague of his over tax evasion of the Binance company and other offenses.

Also, on Monday, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) announced that it has filed a four-count charge before a Federal High Court in Abuja bordering on tax evasion against Binance and its two executives, one of which is Anjarwalla.
