Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Rhoda Danladi: A Two-Day Event to Remember

[Shendam, Plateau] – In a touching tribute to the cherished memory of Mrs. Rhoda Danladi, Chief Kefas, her devoted son, orchestrated a poignant two-day event to honor her indelible legacy. Mrs. Danladi, whose journey was marked by courage and resilience, ultimately succumbed to a protracted illness, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories and lives touched by her warmth and compassion.

The commemoration commenced with a solemn Wake keep held at the open field of Mees Palace, Rayfield, where an atmosphere of reverence enveloped the gathering. Family members, friends, and well-wishers and representatives of the state governor, H.E Barr. Caleb Mutfwang converged to pay homage to Mrs. Danladi’s remarkable life, sharing anecdotes and reflecting on the profound impact she had on each of them. Simultaneously, a parallel gathering unfolded in Shendam, her beloved hometown, where the echoes of love and admiration for the departed soul reverberated through the community.

Reflecting on the somber yet uplifting occasion, a dear friend in Shendam remarked, “It was a beautiful testament to Mrs. Danladi’s enduring spirit and the lives she touched. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will forever resonate within our hearts.”

The following day dawned with a poignant farewell as Mrs. Danladi was laid to rest in the tranquil embrace of her ancestral home in Shendam. What began as a solemn interment transformed into a vibrant celebration of life, as heartfelt tributes and fond memories illuminated the path she tread and the lives she enriched.

“I saw my mother dying and if money was going to save my mother, my mother would be here but I could not save my mother. This makes me to realise that I do not want to be know for how much I have but the lives I was able to touch,” Chief Kefas shareshared, encapsulating the collective sentiment of those present.

The family she left behind were called upon to be prayed for by the clergy men present.

After the funeral rites, The guests were treated to an electrifying performance by Nde Dantala, the infamous Ngas crooner who added colour to the event that signifies the brightness Mrs. Danladi brought to those who knew her during the course of her life
