A non-governmental organization operating under the aegis of Coalition for Peace has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu over improved security and relative peace in the country, saying both recognized inter-agency collaboration that has brought about peace across the country in few months now.

The group said, the reason for improved security was due to cooperation and harmonious working relationship of agencies of government which has put terrorists and criminals on the run, but got killed and others arrested before they could strike.

The group stated that improved security has instilled confidence in farmers which has made them to return to farm this rainy season to plant crops unlike the previous administration which insecurity was their nightmare all through the long years, as the farmers, vulnerable residents of communities got killed, kidnapped and their women raped.

In a statement which the issued and sent to newsmen in Abuja, Tuesday, and signed by the Its President, Malalm Adamu Haruna and Secretary Jonah Michael Simon, they noted that security agents have at various times in this administration responded swiftly to distress calls, particularly acting on intelligence reports which they said has led to attack and arrest of criminals.

The group said: “ Inter agency cooperation and harmonious working relationship has led to improvement of security across the nation and there is no doubt about that, which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Security Adviser should be commended.

“It’s worth saying that farmers are back to farm for having confidence in government prompt response to security threats which has obviously lessened security challenges.”

“Last week, the revelation of the high number of terrorists killed in this administration reflects the seriousness of government in tackling insecurity which has reflected in interagency cooperation”, Sani posited.

The group said, there cannot be anything equal to prompt security response and taking action on intelligence, a development that led to killing of large number of terrorists since Tinubu took over power on May 29, 2023, noting that the increased security at the nation’s borders has also reduced the incidences of kidnappings in the North West and North East.

The group in the statement called on security agents not to relent even as Nigerians would give maximum support and encouragement if the situation of things continues to improve.
