A Northern based Arewa Youths Assembly on Monday called for the sack of the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno amid the escalating security challenges.

The group in a statement which was signed by the Speaker of the Assembly, Mohammed Salihu Danlami whuch was sent to CAPITAL POST in Abuja, said the NSA sits supine watching terrorists attempting to give Nigeria a kind of “Afghanistan” treatment, adding that the ugly development was as a result of the NSA’s failure in office.

“Following the insistence of Babagana Monguno, the National Security Adviser (NSA) to continue functioning in his official capacity despite the growing insecurity and avoidable killings in our country, the Arewa Youths Assembly, wish to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately sack, the NSA due to obvious failure of strategy and counsels emanating from his office.”

The group noted that some saboteurs whom the president trusted with power, appears to be systematically handing over Nigeria and even Mr President over to terrorist as it was in Afghanistan.

The group further noted that the recent spate of killings and attacks in the nation capital, which ought to be the last place to fall in the case of any war, shows that things have fallen apart and terrorist elements seems to be reigning supreme in the land.

The Assembly urged Mr President to seek for Foreign help in his bid to make Nigeria a safer place, as available evidence point to the fact that, “our numerous Generals without war experience can’t fight the ragtag terrorists who have taken charge of rural areas and are now threatening the nation capital, including Mr President and Governor el-Rufai with kidnap.”

The group noted that they can’t continue to fold their arms and watch their people being killed with little or no effort from the powers that be.

The group further stated that, if this continues descend to anarchy is not halted, they will be forced to mobilize their members in the Northern part of the country to resort to self-help.

“By this, we wish reiterate our call on Mr President to sack the NSA who has run out of ideas with immediate effect, failure which will force us to occupy the NSA’ office in the next 14 days, until he is suffocated out of his to feel what we the ordinary Nigerians are feeling as a result of many counsels in the past 7 years.”
