The former President of ICDA,, will continue to be under public investigation until what the people need to know about him is well established. He generated curiosity when he pretended to be a Saint, and was attempting to cast aspersions on someone whose integrity is not in doubt.

The former President had enjoyed the support and the cover of Dr Omakoji Oyiguh, and operated in disguise, until he began to fight the finger that fed him. The last public statement of Sadiq Amodu Abubakar against Dr Omakoji Simeon Oyiguh elicited public interest, including mine, making me to begin to find out more about this Sadiq Amodu Abubakar.

It is already well established that Sadiq Amodu Abubakar is a very deceitful man and a compulsive liar! The new information that has filtered out suggests that Sadiq Amodu Abubakar is a big thief. The Caretaker Committee of ICDA has taken a petition to the EFCC already, alleging that Sadiq Amodu Abubakar had opened and operated a second corporate bank account without the authorization of the Incorporated Board of Trustees of ICDA. He opened this account against the letters of the ICDA constitution, particularly Article ten. He raked in one hundred and eighteen million (#118,000,000) naira into that account, and never gave anybody any report concerning it! This information is in public domain! Sadiq Amodu Abubakar obviously constituted himself into a law unto himself!

The latest story is that, Sadiq Amodu Abubakar, while parading himself as President of ICDA, had collected money from government and government officials in tens of millions of naira for the renovation of the Palace of the Attah Igala. Rumour mill has it that the money had been shared into the pockets of a few impostors posing as executive committee, without doing any serious work on the palace to show for the humongous amount collected.

Sadiq Amodu Abubakar is hereby urged to come out and explain to the public if money was paid to him as President of ICDA for the renovation of the Attah lgala’s Palace or not. He should let the public know how much he collected. He should also tell the world with specificity the account through which the money was received. Let him be bold to state if this one (Particular money) did not pass through any account. Lastly, he should let the world know how much was used for the renovation of the Palace and how much he shared.

Rumour mill also has it that some substantive members of the former Exco, were kept in the dark of this unholy transactions carried out by Sadiq.

Sadiq Amodu Abubakar had posed as a selfless and transparent leader, but series of what have come out from him and his dealings have clearly shown otherwise. He should come out and clear himself whether he was serving the interest of lgala public or his own private interest. The public is waiting!

Sadiq Amodu Abubakar reacts:

Reacting through a telephone call to the allegation, Sadiq Amodu Abubakar denied any wrong doing in leading the affairs of Igala Cultural and Development Association, (ICDA), saying that he was the youngest in terms of age to have led the Igala apex socio-cultural group in history of the kingdom.

He said the task of leading Igala nation was perfectly understood to him, hence, he strived to organise the association more than any predecessor, amid stiff opposition and resistance to his leadership.

According to him, every accusations raised against him were never true, while he boasted that none of those accusing him of fraud could provide any atom of evidence, lamenting that some sons and daughters of Igala kingdom have gone petty in a bid to bring him down at all cost.

He explained that his leadership at the helm of ICDA was a sacrifice he pays, even as he has opportunity of securing political appointment which unfortunately was not understood to his critics.

Speaking further, he posited that as a Chartered Accountant and an ex-banker, he has “never stolen a kobo while working in a bank to bring the name of Igala people to shame”, insisting that there was nothing in the coffers of ICDA to be stolen as his critics would want anyone to hear.

Asked if he was using the ICDA to protect the government in power at the expense of Igala kingdom, and how he manages the fund of the association he said:

“I have never done that. Nobody can accuse me of appearing in political events and I have remain apolitical throughout electioneering campaigns.

“This is the first time Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA) has a National Secretariat in the history of the association, which a sitting governor came to commission.at Anyigba. The question is, what were past leaders doing that they can’t build the Secretariat even when Igala people were governing the State with all opportunities available to them?

Speaking on the alledged renovation of Attah Igala’s palace by the ICDA, he denied of any involvement, explaining that the renovation was carried out by the good spirited sons and daughters of Igala land who are living across the country.

According to him, the donors made contributions directly to the Committees which were set up by them and the ICDA knew nothing about how the fund was expended, stressing that the association only encouraged them to ensure that the palace was uplifted to a world class standard preparatory to the installation of the new Attah Igala, His Royal Majesty, Mathew Alaji Opaluwa.
