The National Youth leader of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Udoh Okoye has disappeared into thin air with logistics funds meant for 50 Committee members who travelled from various States to the parry’s National Secretariat ahead of convention slated for September, 30-31.

CAPITAL POST learnt that each Committee member was entitled to N100,000 which unfortunately didn’t get to them.

The fund which was meant for Venue Committee members was handed over to him on onward distribution to the beneficiaries, but couldn’t be seen or reached through his known contact, a development that didn’t only threatened Governor Bala Mohammed-led Venue Committee, but members are now stranded in Abuja.

Reliable source confirmed to CAPITAL POST on Tuesday that payment was made to all staff of PDP and friends of the Secretariat Committee members, leaving about 50 people stranded who came from far and near for the inaugural meeting presided by Bauchi state Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed.

It was further confirmed that the National Youth Leader and other members charged with the payment had concluded arrangements to frustrate Senator Bala Mohammed’s Venue Committee.

As at press time, protest has rocked Wadata plaza, the PDP National Secretariat at about 7:02pm on Tuesday evening, as Udoh Okoye and the Committee members absconded with the remaining funds.

As a result of protest, thugs were alledgedly to the Wadata plaza to harass and disperse committee members already stranded without their entitlements.

Some members have promised to fight back by re-converged at the National Secretariat on Wednesday to reclaim their funds.

CAPITAL POST gathered that Udeh Okoye and other committee members have penchant of diverting Committee members entitlements into private pockets and sending resident thugs before innocent and prominent members of the party.

They however appeal to Senator Bala Mohammed Venue leadership and Governor Umar Fintiri convention Chairman to address this germane issue before the convention to avoid the repeat of the ugly trend.
