BREAKING: Alleged N84 billion fraud: EFCC operatives lay siege to Yahaya Bello’s House in Abuja

Operatives of the Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Wednesday laid siege to the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello’s house in Wuse, Abuja.

The sting operation is coming after rumours of the former governor hiding in Lugard House to evade arrest by the anti-graft agency operatives over his alleged stealing, and laundering a whopping sum of N84 billion belonging to Kogi State government.

Reports said, the embattled former governor has been using several means of reaching out to President Bola Tinubu, the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima and many personalities close to the corridor of power, but seemed to have stumbled into difficulties. Not his successor in office, Ododo Usman Ahmed could have the listening ears of those in corridors of power.

Wednesday’s operation of the men and officers of the EFCC caused gridlock with motorists having difficulty in getting to Wuse Zone and those going to Continental Hotel.

Bello has many properties in Abuja which he acquired illegality since he assumed governorship of Kogi State in 2016, some of which have been sealed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission after investigation of his activities that revealed, he roguely carted away huge sums of money belonging to Kogi State.

A source told CAPITAL POST on Wednesday that the anti-graft operatives have information that he sneaked into his house on Tuesday night.
