How El-Rufai conspired against Senator Shehu Sani for stopping foreign loan – APC chieftain

A Kaduna State Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Umar Sani Nalema has admitted to conspiring against former Senator Shehu Sani who was replaced with Senator Uba Sani in the Kaduna Central Senatorial race in 2019.

The politician was reacting to the ongoing altercation between Governor Uba Sani and the former Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai who have been at each other jugular over a huge debt profile, which the governor said has made his administration incapable of paying workers’ salaries.

Speaking in an audio tape obtained by DAILY POST on Monday, Nalema said, Senator Shehu Sani was considered too stubborn, hence, they ganged up against him and Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi who represented Kaduna North Senatorial District and stopped their return bid to the Senate in 2029.

Nalema said: “Shehu Sani was too stubborn, he denied El Rufai the loan; so we replaced him with Uba Sani who proved loyal to our leader Governor Elrufai.

“It’s because of you that Elrufai fought Shehu Sani and Suleiman Hunkuyi and other political leaders in Kaduna State.”

He further revealed in the tape which was in Hausa language, saying, Governor Uba Sani shouldn’t accuse El-Rufai of debt issues, claiming that there was no decision taken throughout El-Rufai’s administration that he was not part of.

According to him, Uba Sani was replaced with Shehu Sani as Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in 2019 purposely to secure a loan for the state which he gladly did when he was Senator Committee Chairman on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions.

He said: “El-Rufai sent you to the Senate purposely for the loan.”

The APC Chieftain added that Uba Sani’s resort to name-calling over the debt profile of Kaduna State was manifestly gross incompetence and an attempt to cover governance failure in Kaduna State.

“Uba Sani doesn’t have the capacity to rule Kaduna State. He has foolishly resorted to blaming El-Rufai to cover his failures.

“I’m instrumental in bringing El-Rufai to office in 2015 and I can say that everything that happened under El-Rufai was with the blessing and input of Uba Sani. He cannot come to deny what he is part of.

“Uba Sani has no experience of governance and has no record of service other than the fact that El-Rufai helped him to be where he is”, he concluded.
