Again, kidnappers stormed Sagwari layout estate, Dutse abduct 11 persons

As the people living in the Federal Capital Territory places their faith in God for divine intervention, kidnappers on Sunday night at about 7.30 stormed Sagwari Layout Estate in the Dutse area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and abducted at least 11 persons.

Kidnappers have been having field days abducting citizens, in communities of Bwari, Kubwa, Kuje and many other places with no security agents challenging them.

Sunday’s attack was greeted with sporadic shootings by the kidnappers leading to many families scampering for safety as they would move from door to door kidnapping residents.

Not less than nine persons were kidnapped from the estate, while an additional two staff members of a hospitality facility were abducted

A victim, who managed to send a distress message to the estate’s WhatsApp group, expressed concern for his family’s safety before ceasing communication shortly afterward.

Security forces, in collaboration with estate security personnel, have initiated efforts to search the hills behind the estate.

Inquiries made to the Police emergency call center confirmed the command’s awareness of the incident, with the nearest Divisional Police Officer (DPO) receiving directives to mobilize personnel to the scene. The situation remains under active response and investigation by the security forces.
