Abia:Obi grieves over killing of LP chieftain, tells Governor Otti to get rid of criminals

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi has grieved over the killing of a 70-year chieftain, Zachary Maduka in Abia by a yet-to-be identified criminals.

While decrying the killing, Obi, tells the governor of Abia State, Alex Otti to get rid of criminals and ensure that such does not happen again in the State.

In a post on verified X handle, formerly Twitter, Obi stated on Monday, Obi said, he travelled out of the country to Bangladesh for an international engagement only to return home to receive shocking killing of a Labour Party man who was killed and at the same time beheaded.

“I condole his immediate family, Governor Alex Otti, the good people of Abia, and the Labour Party family. Such a despicable act remains condemned in all its ramifications.

“I sincerely appeal to Governor Otti, in line with my avowed commitment to rid Abia of all forms of criminality to ensure that this type of hateful dastardly act does not go unpunished. I am sure the Governor and the government of Abia will be there for the family, and so will all of us the extended family members. May God Almighty grant him eternal rest. – PO”

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Abia State, Moureen Chinaka, had confirmed that the 70-old chieftain was violently attacked, murdered and beheaded by a yet-to-be identified armed men.
