Voters on queue waiting to cast their votes have been dispersed by heavily armed thugs at Adejare Polling Unit in Ilasa, Oshodi/Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State.

It was gathered that voters turned out in their numbers, but INEC ad hoc staff and other officials were yet to show up with sensitive materials except some containers which the angry thugs scattered them on the ground.

Our correspondent reports that the governorship and House of Assemblies elections are ongoing smoothly in some polling units within the environment as 11.00am when this report is being filed.

After several hours that voting was expected to commence, no staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC had shown up. This was confirmed by a voter who identified himself as Arome Solomon, who said: “INEC officials were nowhere to be found as of 10:12 am, and this left many people stranded until the thugs in the adjoining street invaded the polling unit with daggers and other sharp objects to disperse them.

“Policemen are also not present. The people have all run away and are not willing to return,” he added.
