Commissioner for Cooperatives and SMEs Development, Hajia Sa’adatu Bello has resigned her appointment following father’s dethronement by the State government Bala Abdukadir Mohammed.

The anger spilled over to the resignation of the Senior Special Assistant to Bauchi State Governor on Local Government Affairs, Harsanu Yunusa Guyaba. Both resignation took immediate effect.

The Wazirin Bauchi, Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Kirfi was dethroned by the Bauchi State Emirate Council over allegation of disloyalty and disrespecting governor Balam Mohammed, but sources familiar with political development confided in CAPITAL POST that his removal was for political reasons.

The dethroned Wazirin is a popular monarch and a major player in the political circle of Bauchi State, who clocked 90 years last week.

A revered elder statesman, Octogenarian was reportedly instrumental in dislodging immediate past Governor Mohammed Abubakar from Government House, Bauchi from getting a second tenure as he lost the 2019 governorship election to the incumbent governor.

He allied with former Speaker Yakubu Dogara, incumbent Governor Bala Mohammed and some political heavyweights to work against his second-term tenure bid.

An insider who pleaded anonymity said Kirfi, an ally of Abubakar Atiku, the Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP allegedly had a clandestine meeting with some stakeholders of the party from the 20 local governments of the state on the forthcoming general election.

Kirfi was alleged to have told those at the meeting to vote for Atiku for President and the All Progressives Congress, APC gubernatorial candidate, Air Marshal Saddique Abubakar, retired for governor.
He served as Minister of State Foreign Affairs under President Shehu Shagari and also Minister of Special Duties during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

In a two paragraph resignation letter, dated 4th January, the Commissioner for Cooperatives, Hajia Sa’adatu Bello Kirfi, a daughter of the dethroned Wazirin Bauchi, appreciated the governor for giving her opportunity to serve the state under his administration.
