Lalong, APC, Dr Nentawe Condole Reps Deputy Speaker over elder brother’s death

Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong, All Progressives Congress, APC Plateau State and the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Plateau State Dr Yilwatda Nentawe have commiserated with Deputy Speaker House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase and the entire people of Bashar Chiefdom in Wase Local Government over the demise of his elder brother and Rekna of Bashar, HRH Alhaji Adamu Idris, Second Class traditional ruler who died at the age of 98.

Lalong in a statement signed by his Director of Press, Dr Makut Simon Macham while condoling with the people of the Bashar Chiefdom and the Deputy Speaker said the death of the Royal Father who has been on the throne of his forefathers for 59 years is a great loss to the entire State.

He said during his long reign, the late monarch played a great role in maintaining peace within his domain and also contributing to the progress of Wase Local Government, Plateau State and Nigeria in general.

The Governor said Alhaji Adamu Idris was a man full of passion and compassion for his people and always demonstrated a sense of justice, fairness, honesty and love for education during his reign by encouraging the establishment of schools as well as cooperating with the government to attract development to his area.

He said although the exit of the Royal Father is painful, he will continue to be remembered for the good legacies he left behind and the wonderful memories of unity, love and selflessness he demonstrated on many issues.

Also the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Plateau State, Honourable Rufus Bature who condoled the Deputy Speaker said the monarch who died 59 years on the throne at the age of 98 years was one of the longest reigning monarchs in the state.

APC State Publicity Secretary Hon. Sylvanus Namang eulogised the departed Second Class Royal Father over the legacies of peace, unity and visionary leadership which he would ever be remembered for.

He described the deceased revered traditional ruler as a great bridge builder across ethnic and religious divides who is responsible for the peaceful and harmonious co-existence of his people and their neighbours.

Meanwhile, the APC Governorship Candidate in Plateau State Dr Yilwatda Nentawe said he received with shocked by the death of a traditional ruler

“On behalf of myself, wife, my running mate and the Generation Next Movement, we commiserate with the Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, Deputy Speaker of Federal House of Representatives, the Bashar Royal family, the Wase traditional council and the government and good people of Wase LGA over this irreparable loss.

“We pay glowing tribute to His Royal Highness who lived a very long life dedicated to the service of his people, promoting peaceful coexistence and religious harmony among Plateau people and Nigerians at large. He carried out this onerous responsibility with utmost diligence until his demise”.
