NAF kills ‘high valued’ terrorist, Abdulkareem boss

A ‘high valued’ terrorist named Abdulkareem Lawal has been killed in an operation carried out by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in Katsina North West, Nigeria.

n a statement by the Nigeria Airforce, said the operation Hadarin Daji killed the terrorists kingpin and 27 others in an aerial bombings.

The statement said, the terrorists leader led others to attack Aminu Umar, a police area commander, earlier in July in Katsina.

The NAF revealed that the operation was aimed at improving security across the country, noting that the security strategy has changed in tackling terrorism in the country.

The attack that took out, the notorious terrorists kingpin, NAF said, was as a result of careful planning, and coordination by the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji, which resulted in the bombing of key terrorists’ enclaves and hideouts located at Rugu forest in Katsina State.

“Intelligence has since confirmed that the strikes have led to the elimination of one Alhaji Abdulkareem Lawal, known as Abdulkareem boss.

“Abdulkareem boss was a high valued target who has been on the radar of the Nigerian Military and other security agencies for a while.

The statement added that Lawal lived in Marina area of Safana LGA and was used to inviting other terrorist groups to join him in attacking their targets.

“Specifically, he was part of the terrorist group that carried out attacks that eventually led to the death of the Nigerian Police Area Commander of Dutsinma on 5 July, 2022.

“Reports filtering in have since confirmed that Abdulkareem boss was neutralised in the precision strike alongside 27 of his foot soldiers.”

NAF said troops remain committed to “ridding the entire Northern region as well as the FCT of terrorism”, adding that it will also continue to collaborate with other security agencies in restoring peace and sanity.
