The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCNC), has announced its readiness to begin the 2021 pilgrimage to Israel, Jordan and Rome from mid June.

The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam disclosed this on 31st May, 2022 during a send forth organized by the Commission for the retiring senior officer of the Commission, Pastor Tete Yakubu who had attained the mandatory retirement age of 60.

He explained that the 2021 main pilgrimage exercise was expected to have commenced on 30th May, 2022 based on the understanding the Commission had with the State Pilgrimage Leaders.
However, he expatiated that the inability of the Commission to commence the 2021 main pilgrimage as scheduled was due to operational reasons.

The NCPC Chief Executive described the retiring staff of the Commission as “a true man of God who has worked tirelessly for the Commission”
He admonished the retiring staff to hold on to God and depend on him as his guide even as he exits the Commission.

In his remarks, the Director of Administration, Mr. Barnabas Ali said Pastor Tete Yakubu had conducted himself very well all through his service in the Commission. He affirmed, “retirement is part of life and every public servant must retire one day.”
He further enjoined the staff of the Commission to be supportive and show love to one another. He urged them to engage in healthy relationship and shun rivalry, stating that “no one remains in civil service forever.”

In his remarks Pastor Tete Yakubu appreciated the Commission for the time he spent in service to humanity and to God. He further stated that the grace of God had kept him alive to witness his retirement; he advised staff to be patient and always do the right thing as they wait for their turn to retire.
