The Apo legislative quarters Juma’at mosque in Abuja Chief Imam, Sheikh Nuru Khalid has been permanently sacked and banned from Imamship of that mosque for criticising President Muhammadu Buhari.

The embattled Imam spoke ill of President Buhari over last Monday night’s attack on an Abuja-Kaduna train by terrorists which led to death of passengers and scores abducted.

Sheikh Khalid had on Friday of that week during a Juma’at sermon lambasted Buhari for failing to tackle insecurity in the country, stating that President’s mere condemnation wasn’t enough.

The Imam furiously accused Buhari for travelling to Kaduna for campaign, but failed to visit victims of Abuja-Kaduna train attack.

His travails started the following Monday when he was suspended by the mosque’s steering committee.

The development was also confirmed by BBC hausa Journalist, AbdulBaki Aliyu Jari. He tweeted; “The management of Apo Legislative Quarters Central Mosque have disengaged Sheikh Nuru Khalid from his position of Imam.”

The chairman of the committee, Senator Sa’idu Dansadau added that they fired Nuru Khalid altogether because he refused to show remorse after he was suspended.
