Borno governor inaugurates Tsangaya Education, tasks board to mop up Al-majiris, street children back to School

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno state has inaugurated the Borno State Tsangayya/Islamiyyah Education Board to transform the eastern education system and rid the street of school children, drop outs and Al -majiris roaming the streets without going to school to acquire either western or eastern education.

While inaugurating the newly established education board as part of his administration’s 10- point Agenda today at the Government House Council Maiduguri he said, “the main purpose of establishing the Borno State Tsangayya/ Islamiyyah Education Board is to reduce the number of out of school children on the street across the state so as to balance it up with the western education. ”

The governor also called on all government agencies in the state including federal agencies to support and assist the board achieve its set goals and objectives as at when due whether in cash or kind.

While assuring that Borno state government will continue to do everything possible within its capacity and resources to the best of its ability to fund the new Education board to enable it succeed and achieve its set goals and objectives of improving eastern education, welfare of Tsangaya tutors, status of Tsangaya schools, study materials, feeding and other study facilities and amenities that would facilitate improved education system, standard and quality Tsangaya Education in the state

In his remark, the Chairman of the Board Khalifa Sheikh Alh Aliyu Ahmad Abulfathi on behalf of members of the board, thanked the Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum for appointing him the Chairman of the Board and his members among others .

He also appreciated the state Government for finding them worthy to serve in the Board while pledging that Insha Allah , they will serve th state and humanity diligently and to the best of their ability with their respective knowledge a d experiences to improve in the Tsangaya Education in the state.

Khalifah prayed for successes in Governor Zulum s administration, peace in the state and county at large and blessings while on praying God Almighty to continue to guide and protect them in carrying out their responsibilities as Board Members and him as Chairman in steering the affairs of the board to excellence as they are determined and committed to do everything possible to see that the Tsangayya/ Islamiyyah Education Board succeeds and achieves its mandate.
