Breaking: Gombe ex-governor, Goje escapes being lynched by thugs

The former governor of Gombe State and Senator representing Gombe Senatorial District, Danjuma on Friday narrowly escaped being lynched by thugs and miscreants.

Reports reaching CAPITAL POST from Gombe State indicated that thugs and miscreants suspected to be hirelings of the State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Inuwa on Friday morning blocked Senator Danjuma Goje who left Abuja on Friday morning from entering the town.

Goje travelled to Gombe for his personal engagement to for him to meet thugs blocking him, while burning tires in protest around International Conference Centre located on Bauchi-Gombe road.

Senator Danjuma Goje’s aide, Lilian Nworie confirmed to CAPITAL POST, saying that thugs suspected to be loyal to Governnor Inuwa Yahaya blocked the former governor.

She revealed that Policemen stationed at the area refused to call the thugs to order as officers were watching the political thugs to cause mayhem in the State, a sign that the incident has been that not official conspiracy.

CAPITAL POST recalled that Senator Goje and the sitting governor, Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya has been at each other’s jugular for political reasons in the State with the battle of supremacy getting hotter each day.

Our correspondent learnt that there have been perceived rift between Governor Inuwa Yahaya and Senator Goje.
