Bawa: EFCC speaks on collapsed Chairman
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has assured Nigerians that its 40 year old chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa is hale and hearty.
The anti-graft agency was reacting to the palpable tension currently pervading the country as a result of the EFCC boss’s collapse while giving his goodwill message at an event in Abuja on Thursday.
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) organised an event at the presidential villa which has Abdulrasheed Bawa giving his goodwill, before he suddenly became sick, struggled to walk back to his seat and slumped into his chair.
Reacting through a press release by the media unit of the anti-graft agency, which was obtained by CAPITAL POST, EFCC expressed optimism that the Chairman would bounce back to work soon.
Giving the clarification, the statement said: “This became necessary following an incident today September 16, 2021 at the Presidential Villa, Abuja where he was giving a goodwill message to the National Identity Day celebration, felt unwell and had to return to his seat.”
“He has since received medical attention and is due back at his desk.”
CAPITAL POST could not confirmed the hospital he was taken to, given that Medical Doctors working in public hospitals are currently on strike.
