Igboho: Judge not in Court for unknown reasons

Mr Sunday Adeyemo who was arrested with his wife at the Cardinal Bernadine International Airport in Cotonou was billed to be arraigned on Thursday at the Cour De’appal De Cotonou, Benin Republic.

The Judge who should have presided over the matter was unavailable for unknown reasons according to information from the Court.

Meanwhile, defence lawyers and spectators were already seated with othera loitering at the Court premises.

CAPITAL POST also learnt that some admirers of the Yoruba agitator travelled from Nigeria to Cotonou in solidarity when they learnt that he was likely to be taken to Court today.

Igboho and his wife have been in custody since their arrest at the Cardinal Bernardin International airport, Cotonou, as they attempted to board a flight to Germany on Monday.

Meanwhile, Igboho’s arrest has become a diplomatic issue between Nigeria and Benin Republic as his lawyer has insisted that he shouldn’t be repatriated to Nigeria.
