Abduction of Islamiyya students in Niger: Sponsor, incite, factional bandits against themselves – Sheikh Gumi
Saddened by the endless abductions by bandits in the Northern part of the country, a popular Islamic scholar, Sheikh Abubakar Gumi has advised the Federal Government to sponsor factional bandits against others as a way of fighting them.
The Islamic clergy gave the advice against the backdrop of abduction of 139 students of Islamiyya school in Niger State.
He advised President Muhammadu Buhari led government to adopt a strategy of fighting bandits by sponsoring factional ones against others.
He spoke while interacting with journalists on the ugly incidences of banditry and kidnapping in Kaduna.
The Islamic Cleric, who has brokered peace severally without end in sight, maintained that bandits usually have splinter group among them who are always ready for negotiation, adding that the federal government can use those factional bandits to fight the ‘ugly ones’.
He confirmed that the leader of Boko Haram operating in the North East Nigeria Abubakar Shekau has been killed by a splinter group, saying that the federal government can use that strategy to fight the ‘ugly bandits’ by sponsoring the splinter group among them.
According to him, agitation was another monster confronting the nation, asking government to as well use splinter group to cause confusion among the agitators.
