Tension as unknown gunmen abducts Benue vasity students

Unknown gun men on Sunday night invaded the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi and abducted some students thereby leaving palpable fears into the University community.

The University authority through a statement on Monday by the Director of Information, Protocol and Public Relations Unit (IPPR), Rosemary Waku, confirmed the development, adding that abductors were yet to contact the School management at the time of issuing the statement.

The statement hasn’t confirm the number of students abducted.

It was so reported that abductors were shooting sporadically while on the campus and there was no immediate death casualty.

The statement disclosed that University has reported the incident to the police and all relevant security outfits.

“The University has not heard anything from the students or their captors since the unfortunate incidence took place.”

Confirming the incident, state Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene Sewuese, said three students of the institution were kidnapped on their university campus.

She added that the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command has ordered a full-scale investigation into the incident.
