Yoruba Activist’s house, Sunday Igboho set ablaze

Sunday Adeyemo’s house was early Tuesday set ablaze by unknown men who reportedly came there in five cars.

The development may not be unconnected with the controversy over seven day quit notice he issued Fulani herdsmen who were believed to be behind kidnapping and robbery in the South West Nigeria. adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Reports said unknown armed men came to his old house in the early hours of Tuesday, fired gun shots before setting the building ablaze.

The burnt house was where he lived in the past in Soka Area of Ibadan before he relocated to the present residence now which sources noted that the fire started around 3.00am.

Igboho has been aggrieved over endless crimes in South West particularly in Ibarapa and Igangan area of Oyo State which led to his visit to the troubled area last Friday to assess the level of compliance with his quit order.

The fire incident occurs days after Mr Igboho led his followers and aggrieved residents to Igangan and Ibarapa area of Oyo State to eject the Fulani leader of Igangan, Salihu Abdukadir.

Youths of Ibarakpa however alledgedly attacked the residence of Sariki Fulani, Alhaji Saliu Abdulkadir, set the house on fire and raged 11 cars which were parked in the compound.

Ther were allegations that Alhaji Salihu Abdulkadir was behind kidnappings which returns are offered him after each successful operation by kidnappers.

He has denied the allegation and challenged his accusers to produce evidence of his complicity in the kidnap saga.
