TCN also inaugurated a new 60MVA power transformer at its 132/33kV Amukpe Transmission Substation in Delta State.

In a statement on its X handle, TCN disclosed that the new transformer had increased the capacity of Okenne substation to wheel more bulk power to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company by 48MW.
“With the commissioning of the new 60MVA power transformer, the capacity of the substation to wheel more bulk power to Abuja DisCo has increased by 48MW.
“This means that Abuja DisCo can now offtake more electricity for customers within its franchise area,” the TCN said.
It also added that the launch of the 60MVA power transformer in Amukpe had increased the capacity of the substation from 100MVA to 120MVA, giving the Benin DisCo bulk power to serve its customers in Delta State.
