Paris Saint-Germain, the French champions, have completed the signing of Brazilian central defender Lucas Beraldo, affectionately known as ‘The Joker’ due to his habit of laughing moments before matches.
The 20-year-old has inked a five-year deal with PSG, concluding his three-year tenure at Sao Paulo, where he secured the 2023 Copa do Brasil.
Beraldo, who considers pre-match laughter a part of his mental preparation, expressed his excitement about joining PSG and viewed it as a significant stride in his career.
“I am thrilled to join a club as ambitious as Paris Saint-Germain,” stated Beraldo. “This marks an important phase in my career, offering opportunities for growth. I am eager to bond with my new teammates and take my initial steps wearing the PSG jersey.”
Beraldo signals a shift from their previous approach of acquiring superstar talents like Lionel Messi and Neymar.
