A Director working with the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) Abuja, Aondo Ver, have been abducted by suspected bandits.
Reports gathered that Ver was abducted at about 12.30 am on Thursday, at his residence in Pambara New Extension, Bwari Central Area of the FCT.
A resident in the area, Adamu, said the kidnappers gained access to the victim’s house through the fence after cutting the barbed wires. He added that attempts by vigilantes in the area to rescue the victim were abortive because they were poorly armed.
The abduction happened very close to a military base at the entrance of Bwari very close to Pambara Extension in Abuja.
The FHA spokesperson, Kenneth Chigelu, who confirmed the incident, said the director is a staff of its Mortgage Bank, an autonomous institution.
Chigelu said the incident has stalled the handing over of 40 housing units by DHA to owners in Gwarinpa, earlier scheduled for Thursday, February 1.
