Probity Tribe laments killing of natives in Plateau, calls for community collaboration for self defence

The Probity Tribe has decried the recent attacks on communities in Mangu, Barkin Ladi, Riyom and Jos South LGAs which left over hundreds dead and thousands displaced.

They called on all Plateau native communities to brace up and collaborate vigilantly in order to defend themselves against further attacks and harassment. adsbygoogle || []).push({});

The group in a press statement signed and issued in Jos on Tuesday by its leader, Arch Nanpan D. Dafur lamented the renewed attacks by gunmen within Plateau State.

The decried the detoriorating security situation in the State days to the end of the Lalong administration.

They called the attention of Security agencies in the State to up their game in other not to give the outgoing administration the coloration of an unceremonious exit, adding that all recent attacks were forewarned and the details escalated, but it seemed no serious attention was paid to them until the enemies of Plateau State killed many and burned down their homes.

The group called on all natives and indeed all residents of Plateau State to unite and support those who have currently lost their beloved ones to the attacks and are displaced from their ancestral homes, while urging spirited individuals to intervene in providing relief materials to IDP camps.

They advised elite and religious leaders to desist from making merchandise of the situation, but be seen to been empathizing with citizens in order not to escalate the situation. They advise security operatives to be watchful of those making inciting statements capable of degenerating State Security.

Arch Nanpan used the opportunity to condole with the Governor-elect of Plateau State, H.E Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and indeed the entire people of Plateau State over the loss of lives in recent times. He prayed for God’s comfort and continues guidance for Plateau communities.
