Polls: Atiku defeats Tinubu in Omala LG, Kogi East

Results from the presidential polls held on Saturday February 25, showed that the former Vice President and the presidential candidate of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has defeated Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in Omala LGA.

Omala Local Government Council is in Kogi East Senatorial district and has eleven wards.

CAPITAL POST which monitored the exercise on Saturday reports that the exercise was peaceful in the early hours until about noon time when thugs suspected to be working for the All Progressives Congress began attack on some polling units believed to be PDP’s stronghold.

In all, five polling units were invaded with voting materials carted away by the suspected APC thugs.

Results obtained by CAPITAL POST on Sunday showed the following figures.

APC – 6,374
