Gombe to conduct LG election April 27

The Local Government Council election in Gombe State has been slated for 27th April, 2024.
This was disclosed by the Chairman of Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission, GOSIEC, saying that the chairmanship and councillorship elections in the 11 local government areas and 114 wards of the state will be held.
Chairman of the commission, Sa’idu Shehu Awak, stated this on Thursday during an interaction with the leadership of political parties and election stakeholders in the state in which he encouraged them to participate.
He announced that the Commission has offered a 101 day notice to all political parties intending to participate in the election to prepare and present their Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates.
He said: “At this juncture, we wish to call on all political parties to ensure that they conduct their primaries within the timeframe that will be given to them.
“We also wish to call on the leadership of all the political parties that intend to contest in this election to encourage their members and supporters to be law-abiding and respectful in their conduct of relationships with fellow players in politics.”
