Plateau LG primaries: APC calls for calm, amid anger over imposition of candidates

Following protest as a result of the conduct of the All Progressive Congress APC primary elections ahead of the October Local Government elections in Plateau State, the APC has at the weekend set up an appeal panel and called on its members to remain calm.

Secretary Caretaker committee of the APC in Plateau State Mallam Bashir Musa Sati in a press statement signed and issued to Journalists in Jos advised party faithfuls to channel all complaints and grievances to the appeal panel at the state party secretariat.

He also added that the attention of the APC has been drawn to an unauthorized circulation of fake list of purported winners of the elections on social media.

He urged members of the party to disregard the message and avoid making statements that will promote the agenda of mischief makers.

“This clarification has become necessary in order to ensure that no member of the APC is mislead.

He added that the APC management will use the appropriate channels of communication to announce the results of the party primaries in due course.

It would be recalled that the APC Members across the 20 wards of Quanpan Local Government Area of Plateau State including LG aspirants had last week storm the APC Secretariat in Quapan Local Government and protest the non-conduct of the Local Government primaries and also alleged rumours of imposition of one of the aspirant as the candidate of the party ahead of the october election in the state.
