Niger Youth Corps offers free medical services

The National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC), medical personnel in Niger state have embarked on medical outreach and sensitization programme on health related issues in some communities in Niger State.

The Corps medical personnel have so far given maximum attention on health related issues within the last one week in the selected communities in Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State as part of the NYSC corporate social responsibility to their host communities. com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"> js">

The State Coordinator of NYSC in Niger State, Mrs Fumilayo Ajayi stated that NYSC Health Initiative For Rural Dwellers (HIRD), was one of the numerous ways that NYSC makes positive impact in their host community in helping grassroot development.

She explained that the Corps medical consultation brought the outreach to the community to give them the needed medical attention and that will have direct impact on their health.

She disclosed that the medical outreach will among other, check health status of the the community particularly the pregnant women, aged and children against malaria, high blood pressure and other health challenges.

Mrs Ajayi said the HIRD is a nation wide medical programm embarked upon by the NYSC to sensitize the people on their health status and to donate and to prescribe the necessary medication.

She commended the management of the Paikoro local government area for providing an enabling environment for the program.

The chairman Paikoro local government area in Niger State, Mr Yuhana Auta commended the NYSC for chosen Paikoro local government for the outreach.

The chairman who was represented by the Director Health Services in the Local Government, Mr. Abel Ogah described the medical outreach as unique and commended the medical personnel of the NYSC for their efforts in bringing the outreach to Paikoro Local Government Area.
