NCC boss assures WATRA as it strives to fulfill strategic roles

The West African Telecommunications Regulators Assembly, WATRA has been assured of continued support by the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Aminu Maida.
The promise was at the backdrop of WATRA’s effort to fulfilling its strategic role in shaping the regulation of the telecoms sector in the sub-region.
Engr. Aliyu Aboki, the Executive Secretary of the West Africa Telecommunications Regulators Assembly (WATRA) congratulated the Maida on his appointment when he paid him a courtesy call in Abuja.
CAPITAL POST recalled that Maida was appointed by President Bola Tinubu in October, 2023 as Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission.
He also highlighted some key achievements of his tenure so far, including the development of an updated strategic plan for the Assembly which includes digital collaboration between member states, as well as the re-introduction of Guinea Bissau, Gambia and Niger into WATRA, among others.
