Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello at a meeting with Permanent Secretaries, Directors-General and Directors of MDAs urged them to work for Ododo Ahmed Usman’s victory at the polls coming Saturday.
He promised that he would ensure Ododo will give them car loan if he wins the election and is sworn into office in January.
Bello met with top government officials at the Banquet Hall of the Lugard House, Lokoja on Monday.
A source who participated in the meeting disclosed that they applauded him for promising them car loan, describing as a “fake applause’, given that the car loan they could not get in eight years of Bello’s administration has now been postponed till when Ododo becomes governor.
He wondered if they children that the will believe in the promise.
Bello said: “Mobilise civil servants to vote for my candidate Ododo and get a car loan immediately after the election.”
Speaking further, the source said the meeting ended with dissatisfaction as nothing was given to them for fuel or transportation amid hardships in the State.
He recalled how the governor recklessly spent money
on footballers, Nollywood actors during his presidential campaign, while civil servants rusticated for the past eight years.
Furthermore, Gov Bello called the State Labour Leaders and other stakeholders who he has not granted permission to see him over seven years but now cajoing them through the immediate past Labour leader, Comrade Onuh Edoka to share N10,000 each for the them in order to get the support of the civil servants in this election.
The PS said that, “despite he is from the same Senatorial District from the APC Guber Candidate he would not shy away from the truth adding that the N35,000 palliative, an initiative of the Federal Government which was replicated in other states like Oyo could not be a subject of discussion in the meeting with the PS and Directors of MDAs.”
