In a letter addressed to all Managers of hotels in the State capital which was signed by the Director General of Government House Administration, Alhaji Oricha U. Shuaibu, a copy which was obtained by CAPITAL POST Lokoja on Wednesday, directed hotel managers to forward their bills for settlement immediately.
The government letter said, the hotels would be booked from Saturday, 4th September to Monday, 12th November, 2023.
Part of the letter, titled: “Request for reservation for all our hotel rooms from 4th to 12th November, 2023, read: I wish to refer to the above subject and inform you that the State government intends to rent and occupy all the rooms in your hotel, no matter the size and classification from Saturday 4th November to Sunday 12th at your usual cost per room for full occasion.
“I therefore request you to submit to my office before 12 noon on Wednesday, 1st November 2023 details of your accommodation bills for all the rooms covering the period of settlement.”
The reason behind booking all the hotels, CAPITAL POST learnt was to prevent opposition from having to stay in Lokoja before, during and immediately after the election.
