Digital Economy Growth Plan: Minister of Communications engage Egba traditional rulers, seek cooperation

The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani had led a delegation of ICT Directors in the Ministry on a visit to the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III during a two-day retreat for officials in Abeokuta.
The courtesy call on the paramount traditional ruler coincided with the Traditional Council Meeting of all Egba Traditional rulers, and while engaging them, the Minister emphasized the role of digital innovation in addressing socio-economic challenges of the nation.
He told the traditional rulers of enhance opportunities in digital innovation at creating jobs, skills development, and the provision of essential services to underserved communities across Nigeria, urging them to admonish their subjects to key into it.
The Minister said: “The government is aiming at harnessing the potential of technology to improve the lives of ordinary citizens.”
Tijani called for collaboration between the government and traditional institutions in driving inclusive growth and development.
Reacting, the Oba of Egbaland and Chairman of Ogun State Traditional Council, appreciated the Minister for the visit and his vision for Nigerians, noting that they would lend their support for government to succeed in driving digital economy.
