BREAKING: Gov. Akeredolu is dead
Late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu

Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu is dead.

This was announced by the governor’s family on Wednesday morning.

Akeredolu is said to have died at the age of 67.

Recall that the governor who suffered from protracted illness returned to Nigeria in September following a three-month medical leave in Germany.

He also went on another medical leave after being directed by President Bola Tinubu to hand over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

His deputy, Aiyedatiwa, has been standing in as acting governor.
