Attack on Senator Echocho: Six thugs arrested, will be charged to Court – Kogi CP

Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha has said, six suspected thugs who attacked Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho have been arrested and they would face prosecution.
In a statement which was issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya and made available to CAPITAL POST in Lokoja on Wednesday, said, the CP condemned the unwarranted and despicable attack on Senator representing Kogi East Senatorial District.
The statement read: “Consequent upon the attack on the Senator Representing Kogi East in the National Assembly yesterday in Lokoja, Sen. Isah Jibrin Echocho, the Operatives of the Kogi State Police Command attached to Quick Response Unit promptly swung into action and apprehended six suspects in connection with the incident.
“The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Bethrand C. Onuoha, condemned the attack as very unfortunate, unwarranted, despicable and ordered for discreet investigation. He further assures that the suspects arrested in connection with the incident will be charged to Court immediately to serve as a deterrent to others.
“The CP appeals to the good people of the State to remain law abiding and continue to collaborate with the Police and other Security Agencies and volunteer timely and credible information on the activities of Criminal elements in the State.”
