N1 billion bribe allegation: Ayu replies Wike

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),.Dr Iyorchia Ayu has denied collecting the sum of N1 billion bribe from anyone.

He stated this on Friday after he attended a Board of Trustees meeting at the party headquarters in Abuja.

Ayu denial was at the backdrop of allegation by Rivers State governor, Chief Nyesom Wike that the National Chairman collected the sum of N1 billion from a presidential aspirant which he failed to disclose his name.

The Governor further accused the PDP chairman of collecting N100 million twice for the renovation of a new office for Peoples Democratic Institute (PDI), a research outfit of the PDP on Friday.

According to the Governor, Ayu collected the first N100 million from an unnamed PDP Governor and still collected another N100 million from the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) for the same purpose.
