Jos prison attack: APC commends security agents for repelling bandits

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC Plateau State Chapter, Hon. Rufus Bature has commended security agencies in the State over their gallantry in handling Sunday attack on the Jos Correctional Centre (JCC).

The APC Chairman in a press statement signed and issued by the State Publicity Secretary, Hon. adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Sylvanus Namang on Monday in Jos condemn the attack of the Correctional facility in all its ramifications.

The party noted that the quick response and collaboration between the security agencies is more of what Nigerians need at the period of security challenges bedevilling the state and country.

The statement said evil attackers, who the security trapped inside the custodial centre, when arrested, not be treated with kid gloves, but must be made to pay dearly for their action as a deterrent to such criminals in the country.

Hon. Bature equally commended the prompt re-arresting of some escaping inmates and the one who submitted himself to the police.

The APC in the State noted that jail breaks which have become a new trend of criminality in the country, should be nibbed in the bud as it poses a great threat to national security and which is an insult on our psyche.

The party however call for serious restrategising, remodelling and modernising of the prison system across the country.

The statement further warns youth not to allow themselves to be used by enemies of the State to destabilise it in whatever form, but to engage in productive endeavours.
