‘It’s unfortunate and wrong’, sealing off Atiku’s campaign office in Rivers – Shehu Sani to Wike

As reactions continue to trail the sealing of the Presidential Campaign office of Atiku Abubakar and Dr Ifeanyi Okowa in Portharcourt, the former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Shehu Sani has condemned Nyesom Wike’s action.

Sani described as ‘unfortunate and wrong’, the sealing of the campaign office that is located in the GRA in Portharcourt.

Rivers State governor ordered the sealing of the campaign office citing Executive Order 21 and 22, but the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council in Rivers said, it long applied for the use of the building for campaign office and was never replied by the government.

The campaign office was sealed in the early hours of Friday.

In Rivers, it illegal to site campaign office in a residential building without government approval.

However, the Rivers State PDP presidential campaign council claimed that its media team had requested the state government authorization but has not received a response for several weeks.

The Presidential Campaign Council of the PDP reacted saying that their fundamental right to free expression of interest was being trampled upon.

Meanwhile, Sani took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter to condemn the action of the Rivers State government.

He wrote: “The report of the sealing of the Atiku Abubakar PDP Presidential campaign office in PH is unfortunate and wrong.”
