Yobe North Senatorial candidate, Alhaji Bashir Sheriff Machina on Friday vowed to sue the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), if his Yobe North Senatorial ticket was snatched from him.

He described as illegal and inhuman Ahmad Lawan name which was submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as candidate for Yobe North Senatorial district, despite that he didn’t participate in the Senatorial primary. googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"> js">

The Senatorial candidate contended that he participated in the primary election when Ahmad Lawan contested for presidential primary election and lost, but he won and became the candidate, but said it was illegal for Lawan’s name to be submitted to INEC instead of him.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Machina insisted that he was declared winner in the primary election that was conducted for Yobe North and not Lawan.

“I remain the candidate of the APC Yobe North senatorial zone as duly elected. I did not withdraw for anybody and I will not withdraw because as a matter of fact it is a mandate given to me by members of our great party, the delegates. So surreptitiously removing my name, I consider (it) as very undemocratic, illegal and of course inhuman.

Machina believed that his name was erroneously removed and he asked for immediate correction to avoid litigation in Court, adding that if it was deliberate, he will take measures to appeal to the party before going to Court should the party fail to do anything.

He insisted: “I remain the candidate and it remains so. I hope our leadership will take the necessary measures. We will work hard to exploit and explore all the necessary channels as provided by our guideline. In the event of the contrary, as Nigerian citizens and as law abiding citizens, the constitution of our country being the overall law above every aspect of our lives as Nigerians, I would have no choice but to resort to court (legal) action.”
