Hanifa: Farouq commiserates with Kano State government, family, assures justice

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, has commiserated with the Kano State government and family of five year old Hanifa Abubakar, a private school pupil of Noble Kids School located in Kwanar Dakata in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the State, who was murdered by her teacher, Mr Abdulmalik Tanko.

The Nigerian Police arrested Abdulmalik Tanko and another suspect, Hashim Isyaku in connection to her death.

According to reports, Hanifa Abubakar was abducted and her abductors demanded for a ransom of N6 million but still killed her after receiving the money. The suspects then buried her remains in a shallow grave at the private school premises at Kwanar ‘Yan Gana, Tudun Murtala Quarters.

Reacting through a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry,
Bashir Nura Alkali on Monday, Sadiya Farouq onbehalf of the federal government condemn in totality the inhuman act done to the five- year old pupil and similar incidents in other schools across the country.

The Minister saddened by the circumstances of the girl’s death, prayed for Allah to accept the soul of the departed and grant the parents the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

She commended the prompt action taken so far by the Kano State Government on the withdrawal of the licenses of the two schools named in the tragedy and the constitution of a ministerial committee on the matter and assured that all the perpetrators must face justice.
