FHA Bank distances itself from housing development adverts, caution public against fraudulent elements

The management of Federal Housing Authority Mortgage Bank has distanced itself from a misleading publication and advertorial purported to have emanated from it in some media outlets titled: “Urgent and capable developer needed for massive project’, saying its fake, dubious and a complete scam targeted at the unsuspecting public. adsbygoogle || []).push({});

The attention of the Management of FHA Mortgage Bank Limited has been drawn to a fake and misleading publication/ advertisement presently in circulation in some media platforms titled “URGENT AND CAPABLE DEVELOPER NEEDED FOR MASSIVE PROJECT” which purportedly claims that FHA Mortgage Bank Limited is in partnership with a certain unidentified and fictitious Company to undertake the development of 10,000 of housing units in different parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

In a disclaimer notice issued by the Management of FHA Bank and signed by the Managing Director of the Bank, Awwal Hayatudeen, it said the advertorial was not in line with mandate of the organization, hence, the bank would not be part of the haphazard and fraudulent processes.

“That the land proposed for the development of the 10, 000 Housing Units are differently located in FCT at Guzape, Katampe Extension, Airport Road, Apo and Bwari .”

“That the total cost of the project is N432 billion accompanied with an invitation to interested companies to bid for the development of 5,000 of the units valued at N216 Billion.”

It is on the above premise that, the Management of FHA Mortgage Bank Ltd wishes to state and disclaim as follows:

“That FHA Mortgage Bank Ltd is not in partnership with any company for the development of 10, 000 Housing Units differently located in the FCT at Guzape, Katampe Extension, Airport Road, Apo and Bwari as claimed through the said publication.”

“That in particular, FHA Mortgage Bank Ltd is neither a party nor aware of any proposal inviting corporate organizations, contractors, persons or group of persons to bid for the development of 5,000 of the units valued at N216 Billion as claimed through the said publication/advertisement.”

“That FHA Mortgage Bank Ltd reasonably believes the said publication/advertisement to emanate from persons suspected to be fraudsters whose intent is to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.”

“That FHA Mortgage Bank Ltd hereby strongly advise and warn members of the public, particularly Private Estate Developers and its esteemed customers to be wary of the fraudsters and disregard the said publication/advertisement as any person or persons claiming to act in respect of the said publication/advertisement would be doing so at his or her own risk.”

“That FHA Mortgage Bank Ltd is presently taking steps to seek the intervention of the relevant Law Enforcement Agencies with the view to unmasking the unscrupulous persons behind the said fraudulent publication /advertisement.”
