FCT State Minister mourns Sam Nda-Isaiah

Federal Capital Territory Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, has expressed shock over the sudden death of the chairman of Leadership Group/National Economy, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, who died in Abuja on Friday night, after a brief illness.

The minister in her condolence message said she was saddened over the death of a successful businessman, dogged politician and a renowned publisher who has redefined the journalism profession.

Aliyu, therefore, condoled the immediate family, staff and management of Leadership Group, Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria (NPAN), Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the journalism profession for this great loss, noting that the vacuum his death has created would be hard to fill.

The condolence message reads in parts: “It is with great sadness that I learnt of the passing of the chairman of Leadership Group/National Economy, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah. He was a successful businessman, a dogged politician and a publisher of repute who has redefined the journalism profession.

“My deepest sympathies to the immediate family, staff and management of Leadership Group, Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria (NPAN), Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the entire journalism profession for this great loss. I pray that in this difficult time, the love of God shelters you all and mend your pains”.

While noting that death is an inevitable end to every mortal existence, the minister said members of the FCT family were, however, consoled that late Sam Nda-Isaiah distinguished himself as an astute politician and promoter of Nigeria’s unity.

Aliyu, prayed for Almighty God to grant him eternal rest and the family, the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
