Family of Kogi COVID-19 speaks, knocks Bello for pathological lies

The family of COVID-19 index case in Kogi State has cleared the air on the controversies sorrounding the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, and Kogi State government.

The traditional ruler revealed the COVID-19 index case, as Ahmad Ejibunu, a Chief Imam of Kabba.

According to him, “the index case may have been infected in Kogi because the Chief Imam who is a member of the family has not gone outside the State in few months.

Ejibunu disclosed that there is “no need for Kogi State government to deny the obvious” as it is confirmed that Covid-19 has found its way to the state.”, wondering why the pathological lies?

The traditional ruler confirmed that the Chief Imam of Kabba, Sheikh Ahmad Abubakat Ejibunu was down with flu some few days and was hospitalized at the Specialist Hospital in Kabba, Kogi State.

According to him, further medical attention was sought at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, in Lokoja when the flu did not stop after some days.

The traditional ruler added that he was referred to the National Hospital, Abuja and the text conducted on him by NCDC showed he was COVID-19 positive.

He explained that the test conducted on his son who has been with him came out negative.

He disclosed that the family would have come out to speak on the issue, adding that the reason the family didn’t come out to speak before now was because of the game being played by NCDC and Kogi government.

Ejibunu added that, “The family is concerned about the well being of other Owes and we wish to confirm that Covid-19 has fond its way sadly to our community and the State. Therefore, no need for Kogi State government to deny the obvious.”

He stressed further that the Chief Imam might have contacted the virus within the state because he hasn’t traveled outside the state, calling on the members of the public to pray for Oweland as government begins contact tracing.

However, Kogi State government has insisted that that there is no COVID-19 in the state, calling the index case allocated to the state by NCDC as “beautiful fraud.”
