Election primaries: Niger Command of NSCDC warns officers to be apolitical

Ahead of the conduct of the party primaries elections across the state, Niger State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reiterated its preparedness to ensure a hitch free conduct of the primaries.

The commandant of the Corps in Niger State, Mr. Aliyu Garba Bature made the position of the command known in a statement signed by the public relations officer of the Command, Mr Nasir D. com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"> js">

He stated that the commandant had told the Area commandant and area divisional officers as well as men of the corps to remain apolitical with a warning to them to desist from partisan politics or supporting any particular aspirant.

The command, according to Mr. Bature will not hesitate to descend heavily on any officer that allow himself or herself to be engaged in favouring any of the aspirant, stating that the corps has no any political inclinations.

“Don’t support any of the aspirants or favour any of them, but ensure the security and the protection of the environment and the people that is the constitutional duty that you are assigned to do. Be warned” he declared.

He stated that already, men of the undercover squad and other tactical squad of the command have been deployed to complement other relevant security agencies to ensure the maintainance of peace and security before during and after the conduct of the party primaries across the state.

Equally, the commandant has directed the deployment of armed squad to black spots within the metropolis aimed at fortifying security in the four entry point to the state capital.

While assuring the delegates of their safety and security during the conduct of the party primaries, Garba Bature appealed to youths to desist from the use of social media to spread fake news that is capable of inciting the public.

He, however, admonished men and officers of the command to always observe the rule of engagement and be civil in the discharge of their duties, stressing the need for them to respect the fundamental human rights, while discharging their duties.
