Corrupt governors facing imminent arrest are sponsoring campaign for removal of Bawa – Group

Some governors who have been investigated awaiting to be arrested after leaving office have recently engaged faceless Civil Society Organisations to mount campaign of calumny against the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa.

The United Nigeria, a non-governmental Organisation stated this while reacting to calls for removal of the EFCC Chairman from office, adding that some corrupt elements in government offices were also sponsoring fictitious group against the anti-graft boss. com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js">

Coordinator of the United Nigeria, Zulani Adams stated on Wednesday that the so-called CSOs are willing tools in the hands of politicians and top civil servants who had corruption cases to answer, while he asked President Muhammadu Buhari to disregard the ugly move.

According to her, these governors and public officers have turned public assets into private properties with their families and to help to recover them fast, the EFCC boss being maligned.

The group passed a vote of confidence
on the EFCC boss, Abdulrasheed Bawa for daring sitting governors stating that he has broken the jinx and records of fighting corruption/corrupt elements in the society in 2022, ahead of the over decades introduction of the agency.

Zulani Adams said President Buhari should rather present a letter of commendation rather than been rebuked as been pushed by teleguided CSOs across Lagos and Abuja. Zulai maintained the worrisome trend the CSO’s are being used to promote corruption by state governors their cohorts and top civil servants.

She urged the anti graft boss to remain undaunted, so as to recover public funds starched in local and foreign reserves by alleged corrupt leaders at all levels.
