Coronavirus: FCMB temporarily closes branches in Nigeria

The First City Monument Bank has announced temporary closure of all branches and sales outlets in Nigeria in a bid to curtail coronavirus pandemic.

According to mails sent to all their customers which was sighted by CAPITAL POST in Abuja, the closure takes effect from Tuesday, 31st March, 2020.

“As a follow up to the mail earlier sent regarding modifying our operations, kindly be informed that all FCMB branches in Nigeria will be temporarily closed with effect from March 31, 2020 until further notice.

“This is in view of the increasing spread of coronavirus across Nigeria, as well as the directives by governments at different levels restricting movement and human gatherings.

‘We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

“As usual, our self-service channels are available 24/7 for your convenience.

“We remain committed to doing all we can to support you through this challenging period. Please visit for useful information on how to protect yourself and your loved ones at this time.

Meanwhile, on Monday, the Central Bank of Nigeria in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Finance announced the exemption for Banks from the total lockdown directive of the Federal government in order for them to provide essential services.
